How we work

How Riverell works.

Riverell is a knowledge-sharing site run by the Riverell team. We explain business financing for Singapore SMEs from official sources, check every figure against a cited source, and label worked examples as illustrations. Riverell is not a lender and does not recommend specific lenders or products.

How do we research a guide?

Every guide starts from official sources: Singapore laws and regulator pages (MAS, the Ministry of Law's Registry of Moneylenders, ACRA and IRAS), then government agencies and schemes (Enterprise Singapore, the Department of Statistics, the Singapore Police Force, ScamShield and MAS MoneySense). Where an official page does not cover a point, we use industry bodies such as the Association of Banks in Singapore, or the published product pages of Singapore banks, and say so in the text. Every fact carries a numbered source, listed at the end of the guide with the date we accessed it.

Who writes the guides?

Riverell is run by the Riverell team, people who care about business owners and share what they learn about business financing. The guides are written and updated by the team and published under the name "Riverell editorial team". We do not claim credentials or expertise. Riverell does not publish individual names and does not use invented author names. Each guide shows the date its figures were last checked against official sources. An independent expert review has not been done yet, so each guide says "Independent expert review: pending" until it has been. See the editorial policy. LEGAL REVIEW

How we use AI

Riverell is an AI-native team. We use AI to research and draft, every guide links to its official sources, and the Riverell team reviews each guide before it's published. An independent expert review is a separate step and is still pending. See the editorial policy.

How do we check facts and figures?

All figures and scheme details in the current guides were checked against their sources on . Where we could not confirm a line, we softened it or removed it. In this draft, lines still waiting for a check are marked VERIFY, and lines waiting for legal review are marked LEGAL REVIEW. Each marked line will be confirmed, rewritten or removed before launch. [TO CONFIRM: pre-launch sign-off process]

How do we use worked examples?

Some guides include worked examples, such as the flat rate vs EIR calculation and the invoice financing cost example. Riverell chose those figures to show the arithmetic. They are labelled "Illustration only", and they are not quotes, offers or typical market rates.

How does the Financing Check work?

The Financing Check asks five questions and uses fixed rules, published in full on its page, to point you to general types of financing and guides to read. There is no scoring, no credit check and no lender matching, and nothing you enter is stored or sent. LEGAL REVIEW

What do we never do?

  • We do not lend money, arrange loans or make credit decisions.
  • We do not name, rank or recommend specific lenders or products.
  • We do not estimate approval chances or how much you can borrow.
  • We do not ask for, store or send your details in the Financing Check.
  • We do not give financial advice: what we share is general information and our views.

These commitments are pending legal review. LEGAL REVIEW

Where are our rules written down?

Our editorial policy sets out the sources we use, how guides are checked, corrected and updated, and how we decide what goes in a guide. Terms used across the site are defined in the glossary.
